Games Design Two: Brief


APOC

Game basics
The game is based in a high fantasy world with various mythology creatures from elves, dwarfs, wizards, demons and dragons etc. With most games you always play as the good guys fighting the forces of evil. In APOC that isn’t the case; it’s time for the bad guys to get even. Chose from a range of four characters each with there own skills and abilities of destruction and doing there masters bidding in the exchange of revenge. Each character makes a pact with one of the four horsemen and gains their powers of War, Hunger, Plague and Death twisting them into an unstoppable killing force.

Research


With a rough idea of what the game is about I started looking into the background of high fantasy Characters and got some ideas of what my characters would look.

I began drawing some rough sketches of what I wanted the main characters to look like.

(The brief said design a party five main characters but with the theme of APOC being about the four horseman I decided that the 5th character would be a bonus unlockable character at the end of the game.Also looking into the background of the forth horseman there was some debates whether he is Conquest or Pestilence, so I made the 5th character CONQUEST)

while working on the concept sheets i dicided to give my self a break an try working on some of the 3D concepts useing a program called Sculptris and 3ds max 2011.

After designing the concept i started work on the 3d model in 3Ds Max
Once the 3d models for the city were finished it was time to import them to the Unity engine.
